Calcasieu Parish First Day of School

Calcasieu Parish is located in the southwestern region of Louisiana, primarily serving the city of Lake Charles and surrounding areas within Calcasieu Parish.

On the first day of school, August 13, the weather in Lake Charles can vary, but typically you can expect temperatures ranging from the low 80s to mid-90s. Given the possibility of rain or drizzle, it's a good idea to wear light layers and bring a rain jacket. Don't forget to stay hydrated with a water bottle, especially if it's warm outside!

In Calcasieu Parish, there are about 60 schools serving around 30,000 students. The district provides education for grades Pre-K through 12th grade.

In Calcasieu Parish, we offer a comprehensive education from Pre-Kindergarten all the way through 12th grade. This includes elementary schools for younger students, middle schools for those transitioning to higher grades, and high schools for our older students.
